Help us — a volunteer public-records project
Help put every HOA on the record.
HOA Spy is built by volunteers from government registries, county records and court dockets, and it is free to read. Finishing the job — every state, every county recorder, every trial court — takes money for paid indexes, people with time, and access that only subscribers have. Here is every way to pitch in.

Five ways to help
1. Donate
Donations pay for county recorder index subscriptions, clerk data-feed fees, state corporate bulk files, and hosting. Bitcoin only for now:

2. Look up records
Most county recorders and clerks have a free search page but no bulk download. Search an association there and bring the link back — the Find & add records page opens the right portal for the community's state and county and shows you the exact query to run. Approved links appear on the community's report for everyone.
3. Share access or data
Already paying for a recorder index, a clerk's data feed, a court-research account or a state bulk extract? Sharing an export, or running one of our collectors under your account, can finish a whole metro in a day. The roadmap lists which feeds each state is missing.
4. Write a collector
The data-extraction code is open source: github.com/doncoriolan/hoaspy. Every county portal, state registry and court search that can be scripted is one more adapter — the Broward, Hillsborough, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Alaska trial-court collectors were each a single module. Open an issue with a source you know, or send a pull request.
5. Spread the word — and correct us
Tell a buyer, a renter, a board member or a journalist. Sign in with your email to leave a review of your own association. And if a report is wrong, say so: every finding links to its source, and a correction is a contribution too.
What we will and won't take
- Government and court sources only. Registries, recorders, dockets, agency reports. We do not scrape restricted sites, re-host documents, or accept leaked data.
- Public records, not personal data. Collectors keep association names, officers' names as filed, and management companies; they never store phone numbers or e-mail addresses from a filing.
- Links over copies. A member-submitted record is a link to the issuing source, reviewed before it appears. Reviews are opinions and are labelled as such.
